MyDistress is a
good and useful tool in emergency (Star Nov 4).
MyDistress should
go nationwide (Star Nov 5)
I would like to share a recent harrowing experience while
driving to visit a friend.
I nearly got car-jacked when a white van appeared out of no
where and started
full throttle in an attempt to either hit my car from behind
or swerve right in front
to halt me.
Looking at my rear view mirror, I could see that one of the
men inside was making
an attempt to jump out of the van when he had the chance. I
quickly tried to get them
off my trail, as they continued to give chase even, as I
turned into a residential area.
They stopped when I reached the guardhouse of my friend’s
place. How I wish I had
the application on my smart phone since it would be very
difficult to call for help
and give directions to the police or any for the matter wile
I’m driving.
With the growing fear of crime and the perception of it I
feel that this is a very important
Application one should have installed on one’s smart phone.
Unfortunately this application can only be used in Selangor
while I am based in Penang.
There has been news that MyDistress would be launched nationwide soon in the
Government’s Transformation Programme (GTP) but no date has
been given.
How Long should the rakyat wait for this.?
A resident in Penang.
