Chinese Thieves Working on Flights To/From China/Macau/HK

[Spread the word] From email sent to us/
2 days ago night on an Air Asia flight from Macau to Bangkok, I was nearly robbed by a Chinese guy who rifled through my backpack when I wasn't looking.  2 European guys, as well as the flight attendants, saw the guy looking through a backpack, and  they initially thought that it was his, but then I got up to pay for some chocolate milk, and I reached into my backpack to get my money and it was gone.  I got up just in time, because the thief then threw the money on the ground and walked away.
The European guys behind me, as well as the flight attendants, caught the guy and the pilot radioed ahead to Bangkok and the Royal Thai Police met the flight when it arrived in BKK.  I'll probably have to go to court to testify against him.  I hope that he gets to enjoy the fine cuisine, couture and  accommodations at Klong Prem Prison for a while.
These guys are probably part of a larger network of thieves,  since the police told me that just an hour earlier, they caught another Chinese guy doing the same thing on a TG flight.  I HIGHLY ADVISE that you secure your most valuable items while on any flights to/from China, Macau, Taiwan and HK, and advise your friends to do the same.  Be VERY AWARE of your valuable belongings while on the flight and keep your money, cell phones and credit cards where you can see them.  If you see  something that looks odd, like a guy going up 10 rows to get a  bag in an overhead bin after someone went to the bathroom, go ahead and challenge him.  Help your fellow travelers.
